Terry 'The Bull' Jenkins

Born in Ledbury, Herefordshire in 1963, Terry Jenkins has blossomed into a top-class player relatively late into his darts career and only made his PDC World Darts Championship debut in December 2004.

His first taste of darts on the world's biggest stage ended in a disappointing third round exit to Ronnie Baxter, though his 3-dart average of 90.79 during that match was certainly respectable and hinted that 'The Bull' had a really bright future in the game. Over the next 12 months Jenkins really found his form and 2005 saw him enter the top 16 for the first time and he began to be talked about as a player who would soon be challenging for major titles, having taken the 2005 Antwerp Open.

Terry's performances in the UK Open have improved over the 4 years it has been contested, with his interest in the tournament ended in the 4th round by Dave Askew in his breakthrough year of 2005 having been knocked out in the 3rd round in both 2003 and 2004.

'The Bull' managed to build on his success in 2006, retaining the Antwerp Open title by defeating Steve Maish in the final and recording his best UK Open performace to date. The highlight of his run to the 5th round was an 11-7 defeat of Keith Deller, though his campaing ended at the last 16 stage as he was beaten 11-6 by the little-fancied Robbie Green.

Now firmly established amongst the very best players in the world, those backing Terry Jenkins for the 2007 title would have been delighted on Day 3 as he wrapped up wins over Andy Roberts, David Platt and Mark Dudbridge to reach the quarter-finals. A fantastic clash saw Terry face an inspired Vincent van der Voort who edged an 11-10 thriller on his way to the final, though Jenkins will be a massive threat in 2008 and will be expected to go even further than 2007's quarter-final, his best ever showing in this tournament.
